Senior Azure architecture judgment on retainer. Three tiers - Advisor, Partner, Embedded. ADR review, architecture calls, strategy sessions. 3-month minimum, then month-to-month.

Workshops & training

Custom team workshops on Azure Landing Zones, governance, DevSecOps, or Copilot rollout. Quoted fixed-price by scope - typically multi-day delivery plus preparation and follow-up materials.

CTO-adjacent work: architecture reviews, vendor assessments, board-level cloud strategy, acquisition due diligence. 1-day minimum.
Principal architect

Solution design, landing zone architecture, security and governance design, Bicep and IaC authoring, technical leadership on delivery. 5-day minimum engagement.

Why these numbers
Credible, not cheap.
The Australian market for senior Azure consulting sits at A$1,800–A$3,000 per day for independents. Big 4 and tier-1 boutiques charge A$2,800–A$4,500 commercially but stack project managers and junior architects on top.
Tech Design Concept is a Principal-only boutique with regulated-industry experience. The Principal rate sits alongside tier-1 panel pricing but delivers a named senior practitioner - no pyramid, no hand-offs. The Senior engineer rate exists for defined execution work where a Principal isn't warranted.
If your engagement fits a productised offer, take it. You'll get more value, a clearer scope, and a fixed price. The day rates are the escape hatch - not the default.
